BOSTON- The Northeastern men’s ice hockey team picked up a valuable point in the Hockey East standings at Fenway Park on Saturday night, skating to a 2-2 tie with New Hampshire in the second game of the Frozen Fenway festivities.

The Huskies struck first, as Adam Gaudette pounced on a loose puck during a scrum in the crease just under seven minutes into the game. The power play tally was Gaudette’s 11th goal of the year.

The Wildcats evened the score four minutes later, as Ara Nazarian took advantage of an out-of-position Ryan Ruck to tie the game at one. UNH took a 2-1 lead halfway through the second period when Shane Eiserman beat Ruck for his fourth goal of the season.

Trailing late in the second, Jeremy Davies took a Zach Aston-Reese pass on the blue line and slotted it home into the bottom right corner of the net to tie the game at two. Aston-Reese extended his career-long points streak to 11 games, finishing with two assists on the evening, while Dylan Sikura picked up two assists of his own.

The Huskies improve to 7-10-5 overall and 1-8-3 in Hockey East play, but still sit at the bottom of the conference. Northeastern will get back in action next weekend, as the Huskies play a home-and-home series against Merrimack. Complete coverage of both games will be provided on WRBB.
