NEWARK, Del — Despite 28 points from senior point guard T.J. Williams, the Northeastern Huskies stumbled to a 69-62 loss to Delaware at the Bob Carpenter Center on Thursday night. The loss comes exactly two weeks after Northeastern (12-7, 5-2 CAA) embarrassed the Blue Hens with a 90-54 route at Matthews Arena.
Thursday night’s battle was marred by inconsistency on the offensive end. Williams was the only Husky in double figures, and the Blue Hens (8-12, 1-6 CAA) scored 14 points off of 13 NU turnovers.
Delaware guard Ryan Daly strengthened his CAA Rookie of the Year case with a 27-point effort. Daly connected on four of his five three-point attempts.
The Huskies will try to right the ship at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Hofstra (9-11, 1-6 CAA). Jeremy Leopold and Mack Krell will be on the call.
