It’s been a rough stretch for Northeastern, and Sunday was no different. The Huskies played host to the Elon Phoenix, eventually falling to the visiting team 2-1 in their CAA opener.
WRBB photographer Mika Podila was at Parsons Field Sunday, and has more images from the contest.
The match featured the return of midfielder Jessie Hunt. The fifth-year senior was absent from the Huskies rotation for their matchup against Brown on Thursday, but played 67 minutes against Elon. She also contributed on the scoresheet, adding an assist on Ava Nace’s goal in the 18th minute.
Graduate student defender Faith Rosenblatt also had an assist on the play. The goal was Nace’s first of the season.
Elon rebounded however, tying the game in the 34th minute and taking the lead in the 58th. The Phoenix held on to the lead the rest of the way to remain undefeated on the season (6-0-1).
The loss drops Northeastern to 0-6-3 on the season and concludes their three-game home stand. They’re back on the road to face Towson on Thursday in Maryland.
Following the matchup against Towson, Northeastern returns to Parsons on Sept. 29 to take on Monmouth. Photos will be available following Sunday’s game. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
