With a rotation of just six players Sunday, Northeastern started strong against William & Mary in a CAA conference matchup in the Cabot Center. The Huskies held the lead through the first three quarters, but the fourth quarter saw the Tribe really turn on the jets, as they outscored the home team 23-9 to take the game by a final score of 74-66.

The Huskies were led by redshirt sophomore Abby Jegede, who had 24 points, four rebounds, and two steals in the defeat. Sophomore Yirsy Quéliz and freshman María Sánchez Pitarch both played all 40 minutes for NU, scoring 11 and four points respectively.

On the opposite side, senior Bella Nascimento had 24 points for the Tribe, while nine other W&M players had at least two points in their sixth win of the season.

The loss drops Northeastern to 1-13 on the season, and they’re now 0-5 in conference play. The team will take to the road for games against Stony Brook and Monmouth next weekend, before returning home to close out January.
