BROOKLINE — After seven consecutive games without a victory, Campbell snapped its winless streak Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over Northeastern at Parsons Field, earning its first CAA win of the season.

The Huskies entered the match leading the CAA North Division after earning a 1-0 victory over the defending conference champion Elon on Thursday. Meanwhile, Campbell had not won since Sept. 3 against Queens and had managed just two goals through its first five conference matches.

Despite their recent struggles, the Camels wasted little time taking control of the match.

In the sixth minute, Campbell junior forward Ava Kanaar opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick delivered by junior midfielder Abby Connolly, giving the Camels an early 1-0 lead.

Just over 11 minutes later, Campbell doubled its advantage with one of the afternoon’s most impressive moments.

In the 18th minute, Connolly unleashed a strike from roughly 30 yards out, sending the ball into the top center of the net and leaving Northeastern senior keeper Eliza Teplow with little chance to make the save. Kanaar provided the assist, as the two Campbell attackers combined for both of the first-half goals.

Kanaar finished with a career-high three points, while Connolly matched her career high with three points. Both players recorded a goal and an assist.

Despite trailing 2-0 at halftime, Northeastern held a narrow 6-5 shot advantage. However, the Huskies struggled to create quality opportunities, putting just one shot on target compared to Campbell’s three.

Northeastern looked to respond after the break, but Campbell continued to make the most of its chances.

In the 62nd minute, sophomore defender Kira Moore delivered a free kick from just beyond the halfway line into the box, where senior midfielder Zahra Fepessi headed the ball into the top-left corner to extendCampbell’s lead to 3-0.

The goal marked the second time the Huskies had conceded on a set piece. Campbell’s three goals also marked its highest scoring output in a conference game since 2024.

Northeastern continued pushing forward in search of a goal, but Campbell’s defense held firm throughout the second half.

With five seconds remaining, Northeastern sophomore midfielder Hayden Sumner sent a header toward goal off a corner kick. Campbell senior goalkeeper Anaïs van Doesburg made the save to preserve her clean sheet, finishing the afternoon with five saves and her fifth shutout of the season.

Although Northeastern outshot Campbell 15-11, the Camels were far more clinical, recording eight shots on target to the Huskies’ five.

The victory marked Campbell’s first win in over a month, ending its seven-game winless streak and securing its first CAA victory of the season. The Camels moved to 4-7-4 overall and 1-3-2 in conference play, bringing their CAA points total to five.

The loss dropped Northeastern to 5-6-3 overall and 3-2-1 in CAA play. After entering the match atop the North division, the Huskies fell to third place behind Towson and Hofstra, adding pressure as the conference tournament approaches. Northeastern will look to bounce back on Saturday, Oct.17, when it travels to face Towson in a crucial matchup with postseason implications.
