BURLINGTON, VT- Alex Murphy had 21 points and nine rebounds, and T.J. Williams chipped in 17 points as Northeastern came back from a 13-point halftime deficit to beat Vermont, 59-57 at Patrick Gymnasium.

Devon Begley swatted UVM’s Trae Bell-Haynes (15 points) on a layup that would have given the Catamounts a lead with eight seconds to go. Vermont then fouled Murphy, who made one of two from the line. A desperation three from Ernie Duncan missed the mark as time expired.

The Huskies rallied from a sloppy first half, where Vermont scored 11 points on 13 Husky turnovers. NU failed to score in the final 6:21 of the opening frame.

The tide turned halfway through the second frame, when NU pieced together a 14-2 run to seize a 51-47 lead with 4:24 remaining.

Next up, the Huskies travel to Michigan State for a matchup with the Spartans on December 18 in East Lansing, MI. Listen below for a Rapid Rewind, and coach Bill Coen’s postgame comments.
