CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va — Jacob Oshinsky, WRBB photographer, had the chance to travel down to John Paul Jones Arena for Northeastern versus Virginia men’s basketball. What follows are some of the sights from the Cavaliers 56-54 victory over the Huskies.
Northeastern led by as much as 13 in the game, before the Cavaliers (ranked No. 22/21 nationally coming into the contest), retook the lead with seven minutes to play in the second half. It was a strong performance defensively for the Huskies, however it just wasn’t enough to close the door on UVA to secure the win.
Redshirt senior guard Joe Pridgen put up 11 points and 13 rebounds in his return to the lineup after missing the last two games. However it was graduate student forward Chris Doherty who led the team in points with 12.
The loss drops Northeastern to 4-7-0 on the season, with just two games remaining in their non-conference slate before CAA play begins on January 4.
